Mike Riggs

Developmental Editor

Mike is a writer and editor with 15+ years of experience across media platforms. He started as a lowly calendar editor at the Washington City Paper and then graduated to staff writing stints at Reason, CityLab, and Freethink. He also spent two years as the communications director at the FAMM Foundation, learning to turn complex policy questions into compelling stories. Mike was most recently a deputy managing editor at Reason. He has written for The Washington Post, The Atlantic, Slate, Pacific Standard, Smithsonian, and The New Republic. Mike was drawn to the progress movement by the success of Operation Warp Speed, the writings of Tyler Cowen, and his responsibility, as a new parent, to make the world better than the one he was born into.
